Psychiatric care still has common myths associated with it. Public misconceptions about mental health care are still common.

Yeah when I’m manic, my schizophrenic wife can’t even see it, so she can’t help me. Have had many breaks, and she’s never said a word.

The definition of crazy: Insane people know they are insane, they just don’t believe it. That’s me.

You did it Mark; you broke it wide open! I’ve heard misconceptions for years about people who have mental disorders. It’s so aggravating. Glad you’re here to clear it up! Thank you!

  13. cowntess2 Says:

Yeah. The psych hospital petitioned the court to have me involuntarily committed. If I walk into that court–if anyone walks into that court–and has my name, they can have the clerk pull the file. Courts are public in this case, I believe.

From personal experience and knowing guys on various police forces, let me tell you they NEVER throw out information on anybody. They have info on anybody who has ever come to their attention going back decades.

When you hear about them “losing” a record, it is a bald faced lie. Your police dept. is the closest thing to a closed system you will ever see.

The Stigma of Mental Illness will always be there until there is a pill to completely cure the disease. Hopefully this is will happen sometime in the future, but not in my lifetime. So in the mean time, I’ll keep my mental illness to myself because some people will decide not to deal with me or my children….

  22. shoegalsho Says:
